Networking and Capacity Building

Civil Society Organisations, their coalitions, consortia and networks are capacitated and facilitated with knowledge, skills and technology inputs and bring about sustainable development with the deprived small producers including women.

LIFT (Life Inspired for Today for Child Protection through Self Help Approach)

With the support of Kindernothilfe, the Sri Lanka Centre for Development Facilitation (SLCDF) initiated 5 - year programme on “Life Inspired for Today for Child Rights Protection through Self Help Approach” project. The project aims to ensuring secondary education for children and safeguarding them from corporal punishments in Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi Districts through extended supportive network built through SHA approach.

Let the Women Decide the Margin

Let the Women Decide the Margin was funded by the European Commission and headed by SLCDF to mobilize, organize and empower marginalized women in 8 districts and mitigate discriminations against them. The project provided awareness of political rights and methods to improve economic potential to female sex workers, deserted women and single women. The project spanned 30 months.

Livelihood Assistance for Affected Families adjusting to the ‘New Normal’ brought on by COVID 19 pandemic in Kandy District 

‘Livelihood Assistance for Affected Families adjusting to the ‘New Normal’ brought on by COVID 19 pandemic in Kandy District’ was funded by IDRF USA and directed by SLCDF to empower vulnerable families in the Kandy district to adjust to the ‘New Normal’ brought by the Covid 19 pandemic. The project provided a revolving loan fund and capacity building to the beneficiaries to improve their livelihood development. The project spanned for 2 years.

No to Gender Violence in Sri Lanka

No to Gender Violence Sri Lanka was funded by Developing World Connections and Global Affairs Canada and initiated by SLCDF for a 4-year period. The project aims to reduce violence against girls and women in Hambantota, Batticaloa, and Kilinochchi districts of Sri Lanka through enhanced leadership and implementation of the National Plan of Action by civil society and government entities. 

SPIDER (Strengthening Pluralism, Integrity, Diversity, Equality and Regularizing CSOs in Sri Lanka)

SPIDER was funded by Management systems International and USAID and directed by SLCDF to enhance the performance of CSO’s in 18 Districts of Sri Lanka. The project provided awareness of a Code of Conduct and self-assessment tools that allowed the CSO’s to self-regulate. The project spanned for 3 years and was given an extension till 30/09/2023.

CREAM (Create Responsible Enthusiastic Accountable Movement for promoting & protecting Child Rights)

CREAM for promoting & protecting Child Rights was funded by KNH and spearheaded by SLCDF to provide increased access to education, higher nutritional levels and protection of children in the Badulla & Monaragala Districts. The project will target children between 06 and 18 years in existing child clubs and women of SHG groups formed during the ‘0 phase’ of the project. The project will be conducted over 5 years.

Children- Centric Holistic Approach in the Districts of Trincomalee and Kegalle through Multi- sectoral Approaches to Nutrition and Food Security

‘Children-centric holistic approach in the Districts of Trincomalee and Kegalle through Multi-sectoral Approaches to Nutrition and Food security’ was funded by Street Child Sri Lanka and directed by SLCDF to ensure that 5% of the children in 600 target families are healthy, protective and living in a conducive home environment. The project involved training 20 “Barefoot Nutritionists” to provide knowledge on health, wellbeing and economic stability. The project will span 14 months.

Community Supportive Collectives Help Claim Accountability to SGBV Survivors

The ‘Community Supportive Collectives Help Claim Accountability to SGBV Survivors’ project was funded by the Asia Foundation and spearheaded by SLCDF to provided timely, effective and efficient services to SGBV survivors by accountable institutions in 5 districts. The project provided awareness and capacity building to local communities and organizations over a span of 15 months.

Participatory Development and Advocacy

Participatory development processes are systematized, promoted, and practiced with civil society organizations, networks, corporates, local bodies, and government, at all levels for increased active citizenship and accountability.
