CULTIVATING AGRICULTURAL ENTREPRENEURS IN MICRO – ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT – SRI LANKA

“Cultivating Agricultural Entrepreneurs in Micro-Enterprise Development” is a community-based initiative designed to uplift marginalized families in the Galle District by promoting sustainable livelihoods through agriculture and animal husbandry. By providing entrepreneurship training, skill development, exposure visits, and access to a revolving loan fund, the project enables low-income households to launch viable micro-enterprises. Through cluster formation, market linkages, and continuous support, the initiative fosters economic resilience, self-employment, and inclusive rural development.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Primary

Improve income levels, savings, and living standards of marginalized rural families by developing viable micro-enterprises in agriculture and animal husbandry.

Target Groups

Direct - 10 low-income families in Rathgama DSD, including women and youth with potential for agriculture-based micro-enterprises.

Indirect - Family members of direct beneficiaries, local community members, market actors, and local institutions involved in enterprise development.
