Project Achievements
Cultivating Agricultural Entrepreneurs in Micro-Enterprise Development Sri Lanka

Empowering rural farmers and entrepreneurs through business clusters, skill-building, and market linkages
Established 10 Strategic Business Clusters:
We successfully created 10 efficient business clusters organized by livelihood type (3 in Galle, 4 in Hambantota, 3 in Monaragala). These groups meet regularly to share inputs, address challenges collectively, and strengthen their bargaining power.
Strengthened Stakeholder Coordination:
We enhanced coordination with District NGO Consortia and government/private sector representatives through annual meetings. This systemic effort ensures our beneficiaries receive effective training, technical support, and monitoring from a wide network of partners.
Trained 85 New Entrepreneurs:
We trained 85 beneficiaries (including 56 women) through intensive 3-day entrepreneurship programs. This was complemented by specialized skills training for integrated farming, mushroom cultivation, dairy, poultry, and groundnut participants.
75% Enterprise Success Rate:
Our focused support led to an impressive 75% enterprise success rate, with over 64 beneficiaries actively producing and selling. Success stories abound, with poultry farmers doubling their egg output and mushroom farmers tripling their production.
Driving Value Addition:
We significantly increased production and marketability by focusing on value addition. Beneficiaries now offer high demand processed goods like curd, yogurt, cassava flour, banana chips, and packaged mushrooms, securing higher returns for their labor.
