DR. KALA PEIRIS

Dr. Kala Peiris is a seasoned legal and development professional with over 30 years of experience in gender equity, social inclusion, human rights, and policy development. An Attorney-at-Law and Eisenhower Fellow, she holds multiple advanced degrees including an MBA, LLM, and PhD. Her leadership spans across national and international NGOs, UN agencies, and government advisory roles.

Currently serving as Director of SLCDF and Senior Researcher at CENWOR, she has led over 50 policy studies and evaluations while also lecturing in top Sri Lankan institutions. Her work focuses on empowering marginalized communities, especially women and persons with disabilities, through advocacy, research, and inclusive development.
