PROF. CHANDANI LIYANAGE

Prof. Chandani Liyanage is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Colombo, specializing in health sociology, disability studies, traditional medical systems, and social protection policies. With a Ph.D. from Delhi University and over three decades of academic service, she has held key roles including Head of the Department of Sociology, Founding Director of the Center for Disability Research, Education and Practice (CEDREP), and Chairperson of the Ethics Review Committee for Social Sciences and Humanities.
A Fulbright scholar and visiting faculty member at the University of Ljubljana, Prof. Liyanage has published widely and currently contributes to international research on empowering patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis under the ECLIPSE project.
